This senior pit bull is spending her final months in hospice care at The Pittie Party of Central Florida after being diagnosed with NCL4A, an incurable neurodegenerative disease that destroyed her balance. Her custom-made pink wheelchair, valued at 800 dollars, was literally her legs. On Saturday, August 22, 2026, someone approached the home where she was being cared for in St. Cloud and took it.
The shelter shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook: from one day to the next, Baby was left unable to move. The St. Cloud Police Department, led by Chief Douglas Goerke, opened an investigation, although so far no one knows what purpose a wheelchair designed exclusively for a dog’s body would serve.
What is known is that the community did not sit idly by. As soon as the case went viral, the organization Ruck9 had already purchased and sent a new wheelchair so Baby could move again while the police continue searching for those responsible.
