Fernando Montero is 40 years old, lives in Montevideo, and never forgot the early nineties, when a schoolmate made him the target of mockery because of his Tourette syndrome tics.
Today he is an acupuncturist physician, sports medicine specialist, and even a Drift driver. One night, a critically ill patient arrived at the clinic where he works and needed to be intubated urgently to survive. When Montero looked at him closely, he recognized the boy who years earlier had ruined his childhood.
He saved him anyway. Later, he learned that this person had experienced homelessness and serious family problems, and that life had taken its toll on him in ways Montero had never imagined. The former classmate called him weeks later to thank him and ask for forgiveness. Montero told the whole story in a video that went viral and that, according to him, changed the way he understood bullying forever.
