A video of barely 9 seconds was enough to unleash the hate. In it, Elliot Page walks alongside his bodyguard in front of a London hotel, and that simple difference in height became material for massive mockery on social media.
“And that is going to play a Greek hero?”, some said.
It all began in May 2026, when word got out that the trans actor, formerly known as Ellen Page, could play Achilles in “The Odyssey” by Christopher Nolan. Elon Musk called the idea “one of the dumbest and most twisted things” he had heard, and thousands joined in the memes comparing his 1,55 meters with muscular Greek heroes like the one Brad Pitt played in “Troy”.
There was one problem: the rumor was false. Months later, after the film’s presentation in London, it was confirmed that Page plays Sinon, not Achilles. The whole viral fury was built on something that was never true.
