First, he spotted the bird.
A young man riding his motorcycle along an avenue in Recoleta, Santiago, Chile, noticed a bird hanging over the street, trapped in a kite string. It was moving, struggling to get free, but couldn’t break loose. He knew that without help, he wouldn’t be able to reach it.
Then he did something few would have done: he stopped a bus in the middle of the road and explained the situation to the driver. What could have ended with “I can’t, I have to keep going” turned into something else. The driver pulled the bus across the avenue and stopped it right beneath the bird. From there, the young man climbed up and managed to free it.
It all happened right there on the street, among cars, with no script and without anyone knowing each other. The video was recorded by Valery Acevedo Serrano (@valerybb77) and quickly spread across social media.
Sometimes the world seems kinder when two strangers agree in seconds to save someone who can’t even ask for help.
