The curious thing is that, although the felines looked practically identical to us, the story is quite different for a cat. Cats rely heavily on their sense of smell to recognize other individuals and can distinguish particular chemical signals from familiar animals. To them, two visually identical cats can “smell” completely different.
In other words, this female cat knew exactly what she was doing.
The scene was so direct that even the hosts of a television program in Madrid ended up commenting on it live as if it were the final episode of a soap opera.
The girlfriend reacted like any cheating partner in trouble: she ran away without looking back. But the “homewrecker” cat had to unsheathe its claws.
