During the first week of August 2026, it went viral that Thiago Messi, 13, would join FC Barcelona’s U-14 team in November, when he turns 14. The excitement of seeing one of Leo’s sons make his debut at La Masía spread like wildfire among Barça fans.
But before a Leagues Cup match at NU Stadium, a journalist got straight to the point and asked Messi if it was true. His response was as short as it was emphatic: “Nooo. Antonela goes crazy”. For now, Thiago continues training at Inter Miami’s academy, in the same city where he lives with Antonela, Mateo and Ciro. ⚽️
