A gray cat appeared in League City, Texas, with her fur completely soaked in red dye or paint, as if someone had deliberately submerged her. League City Animal Care confirmed the discovery on August 6, 2026, and since then has been working to catch her without hurting her. On social media, hundreds of people began wondering whether the color was not a coincidence: some users point out that painting animals this way is often associated with underground fighting rings, although authorities have not confirmed that hypothesis.
The shelter made a request that left many residents frustrated: do not try to catch her or leave her food. They explained that every well-intentioned approach drives the cat farther away and complicates the rescue. Meanwhile, the community can only send messages with the exact location where she was last seen and hope that the rescue team arrives before danger does.
