The panelist and official from Santa Fe came out swinging against the organization of the South American Games, which will be held from 12 to 26 September in Rosario, Santa Fe, and Rafaela, after it became known that 15 condoms would be handed out to each participating athlete. With delegations from 15 countries and events that provide direct qualification for Panamericanos 2027, the event logistics included that health item, which she found excessive.

“Are they coming to compete or have sex?”, she said, directing her criticism straight at the provincial government over what she considers wasteful spending or a misplaced priority. The remark sparked controversy on social media: for some, basic prevention at an international event; for others, an inappropriate comment about the athletes’ private lives 🏅
