The Argentina National Team did not leave one of its most recognized rituals to chance during the 2026 World Cup. According to the published information, the delegation transported around 500 kilos of meat to the United States to keep the squad’s traditional barbecues going during the competition.
The main person in charge of the grill is Diego Iacovone, the National Team’s longtime cook, accompanied by Antonia Farías in the training camp kitchen. Among the cuts that traveled were short ribs, flank steak, skirt steak, matambre, and chorizos, in addition to other foods that are part of the daily menu.
The custom is not only about the food, but also about the group’s unity. At the barbecues, players, coaching staff, and officials such as Chiqui Tapia are present. Lautaro Martínez usually gets the music going, and Lionel Scaloni has also joined in this moment of togetherness.
