Mabel had never been a mother. She lived in San Nicolás, came from Pavón, and for years felt that when night fell, something was missing that she did not know how to name.

Menopause had closed the door to natural conception, but not to hope. She traveled to Rosario and placed herself in the hands of Dr. Matías Colabianchi, of the Colabianchi Institute, to try in vitro fertilization treatment. Obstetrician Romina Ruffini accompanied her at every checkup and described something few would expect at that age: a completely normal pregnancy, without complications.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, David was born by cesarean section at San Felipe Hospital. He weighed 2,750 kilos and arrived healthy, just like his mother. According to the available records in Argentina, Mabel would be the oldest woman to give birth in the country, although there is still no official registry to certify it. What is certain is that, at 62, she fulfilled what she had waited for her entire life.
