Imagine arriving on a date expecting a candlelit dinner and ending up watching a documentary about how to build your lats. That was exactly what a young Arnold Schwarzenegger offered in his early years as a bodybuilder, long before Hollywood and politics.

No restaurants or elaborate plans. He took them straight to his home, served his usual dish—egg with rice, no frills or improvisation—and put on a bodybuilding documentary as if it were the most romantic movie in the world. For him, any minute away from the gym or his diet was time wasted on the path to becoming the best on the planet.

No social life could compete with that obsession. And looking back, perhaps that absurd, unfiltered discipline was precisely what ended up building the legend.
