Samuel Hoffmann was just 7 years old when he began going to a hospital accompanied by a nun.

He lives in Brusque, Santa Catarina, Brazil, and today, at 12, he no longer goes empty-handed. In his home’s yard, he grows the plant “Our Lady’s Tears”, harvests and selects the seeds one by one, and turns them into rosaries without painting or altering them.

He takes them himself to hospitalized children, especially at Hospital Azambuja. Sister Terezinha invited him to join the visits, and Samuel added music and a gift so the little ones would remember to pray. “When we go in and give a gift, we play music, and she starts to calm down”, he says.

On May 31, 2026, he donated 100 rosaries for missions in Bahia. His mother, Maristela, is convinced that her son’s faith ended up transforming the whole family.
How long will he continue? His answer is short: “Until God allows me to”.
