Michael Kutcher was born five minutes after his brother Ashton, weighing less than two kilos.
He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 3. At 13, a heart transplant. Later, open-heart surgery for a blood clot. Meanwhile, Ashton was becoming a Hollywood star at just 19, and carrying a guilt he didn’t know how to name. 🎬
When he confessed it to Michael, the response marked him forever: “Every time you feel sorry for me, you make me feel like less. This is the only life I’ve ever known, so stop feeling sorry for the only thing I have”. That sentence gave Michael back control of his own story — today he is a motivational speaker, spokesperson for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and father of three children in Colorado. Ashton calls him his hero. Michael calls him his best friend. 💙
