Dejana Nežić was six years old when she picked up a paintbrush with her feet for the first time.
She was born in Serbia in 1994 without arms, but that was never the central story of her life. She learned to eat, write, and dress herself using only her legs, and she channeled that same absolute control into art. At nine, she was already the youngest member of the VDMFK, the international association of artists who paint with their mouths and feet. She graduated in classical painting and today creates acrylic animal portraits, with intense colors and a precision that amazes anyone who sees her missing hands and finished works.
Her talent did not stay on the canvas: she is also a world and European para-taekwondo champion, and in 2023 she became a mother. Under the name Girl with Wings, she exhibits in more than 60 shows around the world and shares her story with millions of people who follow her. She did not paint despite something — she painted with what she had, and that was enough to take her everywhere.
