Tiziano was 4 years old, lived in Entre Ríos, and was undergoing cancer treatment. One cold day, on the way to preschool, he saw a man sitting alone on the sidewalk. Without hesitating, he asked his mom to stop: “Let’s buy something for grandpa”. He gave him a sandwich and asked if he was happy. The man, whose name is Tano, replied with tears in his eyes: “Yes, my son”.

Tano was 55 years old, had worked his whole life as a bricklayer, and his own daughter had taken his house away from him. He had spent more than a year sleeping on the street with injured feet. The next day, when Tiziano and his mom Florencia came back with shoes and warm clothes, Tano was no longer there. For 15 days they searched the neighborhood without finding him. When they finally found him, the decision had already been made: they took him home, gave him a hot bath, food, and a room of his own.

Today Tiziano and Tano are inseparable. They play, read stories, and do gardening together. Every morning, the little boy brings him breakfast. Sometimes the person you need most appears when you least expect it, and sometimes the one who finds you is barely four years old. 🌱
