Little Yağız Bekte was born in Samsun with a strange medical condition that did not allow him to feel full.
At 5 years old, he came to weigh 90 kilos and depended on a ventilator. His father, Sedat, sadly recalled that the boy cried when he saw his friends playing: “Before, we couldn’t go anywhere, he would get very sad”.
Fortunately, his life changed in 2022 thanks to an expensive treatment approved by the Ministry of Health, inaccessible because of its rarity.
After a great effort, at 11 years old he managed to get down to 40 kilos. “Now I am very well, I can do the activities my friends do”, celebrates Yağız, who now enjoys roller coasters.
