Some workers pointed out that, although it was not allowed, years ago it was relatively common for employees to take products during their shift and pay for them at the end of the day. The case also raised questions about the teenager’s working conditions, including the fact that he carried a work box cutter, something some consider inappropriate or risky for a minor.
