After inhaling decorative cake dust his mother was making, a one-year-old baby will suffer lifelong damage to his lungs

It all happened in seconds. 😓

While his mother, Katie Robinson, was preparing a birthday cake, little Dusty, just 14 months old, grabbed a jar of decorative gold dust and opened it with his teeth, inhaling some of the contents.

It seemed harmless, but the dust turned into a thick paste inside his lungs, blocking his airways and leaving him unconscious. The boy had to undergo emergency surgery to save his life and remained in a coma for 7 days.

Although Dusty survived, his recovery will be long. The little boy is still using a feeding tube, started asthma treatment, will need physical therapy, and doctors believe the accident could leave him with permanent lung damage. 💔

Even so, his mother says he is a true “fighter” and remains hopeful that he will make a full recovery, proving that the doctors were “wrong” about his diagnosis. 🫩
