Carliz de la Cruz Hernández and Benito Martínez Ocasio, now known as Bad Bunny, were a couple between 2011 and 2016, when they both worked at a supermarket in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. 🎤 From that relationship came a phrase whispered in his ear: “Bad Bunny, baby”. Years later, that same phrase appeared in “Pa’ Ti” and “Dos Mil 16”, two songs from Un Verano Sin Ti.

In 2022, she was offered 2,000 dollars for the use of her voice. She said no. 💰 In March 2023, she filed a lawsuit in San Juan for at least 40 million dollars, alleging damage to her image and her moral rights.

Now, the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico has determined that the process will continue. Note: there is no ruling or confirmed payment yet; the case remains before the Court of First Instance. Bad Bunny has not commented. ⚖️
