The WNBA star, Angel Resse, just 22 years old, decided to speak candidly about something that has bothered her for some time: the way people react when she posts a bikini photo.
“I am a beautiful woman, I have a good body, and I work hard for it”, she said, making it clear that confidence should not automatically be translated into sexualization.
What bothers her most, she explained, is what fame takes away from her: the right to be seen simply as what she is. “I think that when you reach a certain level of popularity, people forget that you are a 22-year-old girl”, she remarked.
For Reese, being one of the most recognizable players in women’s basketball does not mean giving up showing herself as she wishes. She only asks that a photo be just that: a photo.
