Ary Mirelle had two pregnancies in a very short time, and during that period, her children were her priority.

Pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, and all the responsibilities of motherhood. Jorge is 2 years old and Joaquim is 11 months old, and the wife of singer João Gomes says her days were spent between them, the house, and work. “Before I knew it, the day was over and I hadn’t done anything for myself”, she admits.

Now she’s reclaimed her own space: she works out, watches what she eats, and plays beach tennis. But she clarifies that she doesn’t do it just for her body, but because she enjoys feeling good. “I understand that my body has been through a lot and that everything takes time”, she says. She has stopped putting pressure on herself and does things for herself, without any pressure.

For Ary, taking care of herself doesn’t take anything away from her children. On the contrary: when she’s doing well and happy, she feels she can be even more present for them. And she sums it up this way: being a mother doesn’t mean forgetting the woman she is.
