Ben Affleck and Shakira were romantically linked after their respective separations, but the rumored romance never came to be. The rumor stemmed from a story told by Ana Navarro, a panelist on The View, who decided to play Cupid between the two.
Navarro said she ran into Matt Damon, a close friend of Affleck’s, at a Shakira concert in Miami. When she learned that the singer was single, she thought she and Affleck could make a good couple and suggested to Damon that he help them meet.
The idea, however, went no further. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Affleck said he was unaware of the supposed matchmaking attempt and made it clear that there had never been a romantic connection with Shakira.
The actor, who divorced Jennifer Lopez in 2025, also said that he is doing well and is happy with his life right now. He explained that his priorities are his children and his work, and that he is not looking for a relationship at the moment. However, he clarified that he is not closed off to love and that if a relationship comes along at some point, he will be open to it. For now, he said he is content with his situation and has no need to go looking for a partner.
