Scot Byrd was at church when his home in Bon Secour, Alabama, began to burn.
When he returned, there was nothing left. The fire completely devoured the house and also took one of his cats. Firefighters went in to look for the family bulldog among the charred remains. What they found afterward brought one of them to tears: Scot’s grandfather’s Bible, with a cross and the verse John 3:16 engraved on the cover, was completely intact. Not a single smoke mark, not one burned corner.
For Scot, it was no coincidence. His 7-year-old daughter, Shelby, had beaten leukemia diagnosed when she was barely 2 — the family already calls her their “miracle baby”. Now, amid the ashes of everything they owned, they found one more reason to believe that someone was watching over them. 🙏
