Billie Jean, a one-year-old dog, went viral around the world thanks to her touching smile in an adoption post. 🥺🐶
The little dog arrived at a shelter in South Carolina completely frightened after her owner, an older adult, had to move to an assisted living facility. Since she had only lived with him, that whole new environment had her very nervous.
Trying to help her, the shelter shared a photo of Billie Jean smiling shyly alongside a message asking for a patient family to teach her to “be brave”.
The post immediately went viral and hundreds of people sent in applications to adopt her. And luckily, just two days later, Billie Jean found a new home. ❤️
The shelter said that she is now “thriving with her new family” and took the opportunity to remind everyone that although she had a happy ending, they still have 130 dogs waiting for a home. 😣
