Bolt is 3 years old and has a look that melts anyone’s heart.
He works at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Texas, sniffing out explosives among suitcases and hallways filled with hurried travelers. He is a German Shorthaired Pointer, and there is nothing cute about his job: every day, he checks cargo and luggage for what no one wants to find. But this week, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) decided to reward his more adorable side, too. To claim the crown, Bolt had to beat 84 competitors from across the country. In the semifinal, he defeated Xaro, a 9-year-old German Shepherd with years of experience on the job, and in the final, he prevailed over Ember, a Labrador from Orlando.
His trainer, Daphne Wang, described him better than any official statement could: ‘He is the bug-eyed German Shorthaired Pointer you will ever see in your life.’ Thus, between serious sniffing and a face that looks straight out of a cartoon, Bolt became the TSA’s Cutest Canine of 2026 without missing a single day of work.
