Noah Wall was born on March 6, 2012, in Cumbria, England, surrounded by 12 doctors who were already preparing for the worst.
Scans showed that his brain barely reached 2% of normal size, far short of the 25% that specialists expected to find. He had severe hydrocephalus and spina bifida, and doctors suggested to Rob and Shelly Wall up to five times that they terminate the pregnancy. They even signed a do-not-resuscitate order, and the parents managed to choose a coffin before their son took his first breath.
Noah was born anyway. After a double surgery and eleven more operations over the years, his brain grew to 80% of its normal size. Today, he visits schools with his mother, teaching about disability, and is an ambassador for a foundation that helps children like him.
