A boy approached an ice cream truck in Massachusetts wanting to buy something, but without money to pay for it. Instead of telling him no, the business owner gave him a cone and shared the moment on social media with a simple idea: kindness can be free too.
Maddy Silvagnoli, owner of Maddy’s Ice Cream and More, said she does not want to leave out children who have no way to pay. The post received so many messages of support that the community’s response ended up becoming a larger initiative.
This is how the No More Tears Fund was born, a fund designed to provide free ice cream to minors who arrive without money. Silvagnoli made a promise for the entire season: no child should walk away crying from an ice cream truck.
