A step on the sidewalk. Notebook open. Pencil in hand. That’s how they found a boy on the streets of Chincha, Peru, oblivious to the noise of traffic and the passing pedestrians, doing his schoolwork with a concentration that left those who saw him speechless.
His mom was working a few meters away, offering her products to drivers waiting at the traffic light. While she was scraping by to bring something home, he didn’t waste a single minute: he turned the outside of a company into his improvised classroom and did what he had to do.
