Brekken wanted just one thing: to sit with the man by the window.
Amy Wadford had taken six children to dinner at Fernandos, a Mexican restaurant in Magee, Mississippi. While the others ate, Brekken couldn’t take his eyes off the stranger and started crying. As Amy was about to take him to the car, the man asked her for something: to hold him. As soon as he did, the crying stopped.
They sat together at the table, ate chips with salsa and chatted—a little boy and a man who hadn’t known each other just minutes earlier. When it was time to leave, Brekken said goodbye to his new friend as if he’d known him all his life.
Amy posted the photo on Facebook to ask that, if anyone recognized the man, they thank him for the kind gesture. It got over 91.000 likes and 81.000 shares, and he was identified as Darius West. They still talk regularly.
