Norway, with a Haaland brace, knocked out Brazil, and England eliminated Mexico at the Estadio Azteca. Millions of fans were left heartbroken. But the blow did not stay on the pitch.

The next day, shares of AB InBev (owner of Corona and Skol) fell more than 4% in Brussels, while Heineken’s dropped 1.4% in Amsterdam. Morgan Stanley, led by analyst Sarah Simon, warned that both brewers are the ‘most exposed’ to a weak third quarter in Latin America. Constellation Brands, which distributes Corona in the United States, sank nearly 6% in New York.

It is not that people are going to stop drinking beer. It is that without Brazil or Mexico in the tournament, that extra toast that only a World Cup in its final stage brings vanished 🇧🇷🇲🇽🍻
