Ana Carolina Cruz has been living in Chile for eight years, and an Argentine instructor at Valle Nevado shouted racist insults at her and also demanded that she return to Brazil.
It all happened on a beginner slope while she was practicing snowboarding with her partner. Her companion turned on the camera, and the exact moment the employee came at them with insults was recorded, without anyone else intervening. “We are very shaken, he suddenly attacks you, without warning”, she later said, still crying in front of the camera.
Valle Nevado reacted quickly: it immediately and indefinitely suspended the instructor and opened an internal investigation.
