In June 2025, Brazilian Juliana Marins, 26, was hiking on Mount Rinjani, one of the tallest and most active volcanoes in Indonesia, when she became exhausted during the hike and asked to stop. The bad part is that the guide continued with the group, leaving her behind, and hours later they discovered that she had fallen down a ravine about 300 meters toward the crater.

Images captured by a drone showed that Juliana was still alive after the fall, injured and trapped in an area that was difficult to access. For several days, rescuers tried to reach her, but they were unable to get to her in time.

On the third day, emergency teams finally reached the site and confirmed her death due to the damage caused by the fall. The family accused the rescue operation of negligence and questioned why the trail remained open while the search continued.
