Through her attorney, Michael A. Goldstein, Britney Spears pleaded guilty to driving as a “wet reckless”, a standard for defendants found to have been driving with a “low alcohol level” and not having caused injuries or fatal accidents.

Her attorney told the Ventura court that his client is “making amends” by having voluntarily entered rehabilitation, which served as background for granting her probation, state fines, and a mandatory class over the course of one year.

Prosecutor Erik Nasarenko said that Spears had “been responsible” by entering rehabilitation, and they agreed with the court that she should continue substance abuse treatment, visits with her therapist, and with a psychiatrist. Although he emphasized that it was a “serious offense”.
“We don’t want Miss Spears to make the same mistakes again”, the authority stated.
