The rare albino buffalo caught the attention of thousands of people in Bangladesh because of its peculiar blond “hairstyle” with a side part, so similar to that of the U.S. president that many ended up naming it “Donald Trump”.
But behind the jokes there was a much sadder story: the animal had been sold to be sacrificed during a religious festival.
However, its unexpected popularity on social media was so great that the authorities decided to intervene at the last moment to prevent it.
That was how the buffalo was transferred to the country’s national zoo, where it will be able to live protected and receive special care due to its condition of albinism. 🥹
