Pulled out the forbidden moves: Company trains a humanoid robot to perform “the deed”

Somnia Lab is taking AI to another level and has placed its bets on the pleasure industry.

They are training Model L, a humanoid robot designed for companionship and intimacy that promises to remember the user’s preferences, respond to touch, and maintain a body temperature similar to that of a real human.

The training process went viral because it is as simple as it is uncomfortable to watch: they capture human movements using sensors, convert them into data, and then transfer them to the robot’s software. So far, the company claims to have recorded 165 different actions.

But the most surreal part is that, to teach it certain gestures and positions, especially the spicier ones, real people wearing motion-capture suits were used to perform the actions that the humanoid will later have to imitate.

Thus, something that until recently seemed reserved for science fiction is breathing down our necks.
