Camilla took sides. Royal biographer Andrew Lownie makes this claim, stating that the 79-year-old queen consort is “firmly on Kate’s side” following Harry and Meghan’s return to the United Kingdom.
According to Lownie, Camilla — who is very close to the Princess of Wales — has reportedly been reinforcing King Charles III’s determination to set “clear boundaries” with the Sussexes.
Camilla wants the King to be careful, to determine whether the couple can be trusted or not with matters of royal confidentiality, due to what happened in 2022 in Meghan and Harry’s Netflix docuseries.
Furthermore, there is uncertainty about the couple’s position regarding their royal duties, and Prince William fears that the same thing will happen as in 2020, when Harry made the decision to leave the United Kingdom.
