Josué Zepeda had the ticket to the World Championship in Montenegro almost in hand, but he was missing the most basic thing: 4 thousand dollars for transportation, lodging, and expenses.
With no other option, he posted his story on social media hoping someone would see it. And someone did: none other than Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, the man from Guadalajara who knows well what it costs to make one’s way in this sport.
“They will contact you, so stay alert; count on them, and best of luck”, Canelo wrote to him. Few words, but enough for a boy with a world championship dream to know that he is not alone.
Canelo has not forgotten his own path and extends a helping hand to a young man who is in the same shoes as the Mexican was when he began his journey.
