The visa almost stole this moment from him… but destiny had other plans. 🥹🇨🇻 Days earlier, Vozinha had cried on camera: his mom couldn’t travel to see him because her visa had been denied. 😢 The 40-year-old goalkeeper who became a hero by saving penalties against Spain admitted it was the only burden he still needed to lift.

The World Cup, however, had another script in store. Ana Cândida Évora managed to sort out the paperwork, crossed the Atlantic, and sat in the stands just in time to see Cape Verde draw 0-0 with Saudi Arabia and reach the round of 32 for the first time in its history. 🙌

A country of barely half a million inhabitants, in its World Cup debut, advancing to the next round.

The image of her celebrating in the stands completed one of the most incredible stories of this tournament. Now Argentina, the world champions, await them. 🌟 Will they keep advancing?
