Carmen Andrade and her sister Lupita have shared a pelvis, torso, and reproductive system since birth. They are dicephalic twins: two heads, two hearts, two minds in one body. And yet, each lives her own love story.
Carmen met Daniel McCormack through a dating app in 2020. Five years later, in October 2024, they got married in an intimate ceremony on Lover’s Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut, with an emerald green dress instead of the traditional white one. Lupita, who identifies as asexual and has no interest in romance, was there too, supporting her sister from the same body. When they finally shared the news in a video, Carmen showed her ring and said, ‘I got married’; Lupita, laughing, replied, ‘I didn’t.’
