Casemiro harshly criticized today’s young players for being fixated on numbers, showing little concern for performance on the pitch:
“The new generation of footballers coming through is obsessed with statistics. They only know how to pass backward to have good numbers. They finish matches with 97% passing accuracy. But what passes? You have to play forward, it doesn’t matter if you lose the ball”, the Brazilian said.
