What should have been an afternoon of laughter and play turned into a lesson about how “cunning” people can be and the internet is outraged. A boy with the carelessness typical of his age, forgot his Nintendo Switch in Santa Rosa Jáuregui, Querétaro. What nobody expected was that a woman, who was around, spotted the “treasure” and, instead of looking for an owner or taking it to the lost-and-found, decided the console was now part of her own personal belongings.
The woman’s shamelessness was caught on video, where her technique, worthy of a spy movie, is on full display: she approached the area, made sure no one was watching, and with surprising speed, she put the game on her purse. The calm in which she moved, while the little boy was distracted, has split online users between laughter at the absurdity of the situation and fury at her lack of empathy towards a child.
As expected, the video went instantly viral in a matter of hours, unleashing harsh criticism and, of course, the creativity of users. The comments dubbed this woman “Thieving Auntie” and others demands she is identified. The video is a reminder that, in this day and age, there is always a camera watching.
The woman not only has a new console now, she also has the dubious honor of starring in a reverse “unboxing” video that everyone is talking about.
