Cereza was pregnant when the explosion at the Concordia Bridge left her body with second- and third-degree burns.
It was September 10, 2025, and in addition to her burns, she arrived at the veterinary clinic malnourished and anemic. There, she underwent an emergency C-section to save her five puppies. Four died in the following days. Only one survived: Cerecito.
Mother and son spent weeks hospitalized, undergoing surgeries and wound care, until November 7, when they finally left together for a home. Today, a year after the tragedy, a photo shows them unrecognizable: Cereza sleeps peacefully, healthy, and Cerecito has grown strong by her side. All thanks to the rescue efforts of Huellitas Amor Sin Fronteras, the organization that did not leave them alone when they needed help the most.
