A curious measure in China sparked debate and millions of reactions on social media after several brands began using men to model women’s lingerie in live broadcasts.

It all happened after Chinese authorities tightened restrictions on content considered “obscene”, banning women from promoting underwear during live internet broadcasts.

To avoid losing sales, several stores chose to hire male models who began showing bras and women’s garments on camera.
The images quickly went viral because of how unusual the situation was and generated mixed comments between those who found it absurd and those who criticized the heavy censorship applied in the country.
