In 2020, Chris Nikic crossed a finish line that no one with Down syndrome had crossed before: that of a full Ironman. 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling, and 42 km running. It was not a miracle — it was years of training, falls, and a motto he repeats like a mantra: move forward 1% every day. 💪

From that day on, Nikic did not slow down. He completed the six World Marathon Majors — the most demanding races on the planet — and won multiple ESPY Awards, the most important honors in American sports. At the Ironman 70.3 in Massachusetts, he had Dr. Tommy Martin as his race guide, who accompanied him kilometer by kilometer. “I hope every finish line Chris crosses reminds the world that your diagnosis does not define your potential”, Martin said. 🏅

Today, Chris has something that very few athletes in the world can say: a historic record, his own foundation, and the ability to change what people believe is possible. If you ever thought your circumstances put a ceiling on you, his story answers you with facts. ✨
