Each “no” left her in the same place. Collette Divitto, from Boston, was 31 years old, had Down syndrome, and a list of job rejections that never ended. No company wanted to give her a chance. So she decided she didn’t need anyone to give it to her. 🍪

She grabbed her favorite cookie recipe, turned on the oven, and started from scratch. Five years later, her bakery Collettey’s is worth more than one million dollars, distributes in seven U.S. states, and has a team of 15 employees — half of them, people with disabilities. Collette not only built her own path: she left it open for those whom the world had also shut out. 💙

Her advice is as simple as her story is extraordinary: “Don’t let people bring you down. When one door closes, another opens.” And she proved it with every tray of cookies she pulled out of the oven. 🙌
