Josimar José Évora Dias, better known as Vozinha, is 40 years old and just a few months ago did not even have a team. He was a free agent, playing in Portugal’s Second Division with G.D. Chaves. Nobody knew him outside Cape Verde.
Then the 2026 World Cup arrived. He held Spain to a draw, put in a great performance against Argentina in extra time, and ended up in the tournament’s Best XI. The world discovered him saving impossible penalties, and even Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami took notice of him.
But it was Colo Colo who secured the signing. Aníbal Mosa, president of the Chilean club, confirmed the agreement ⚽🧤 and now Vozinha is preparing to travel to Chile, undergo medical examinations, and be presented at Estadio Monumental. Not everyone is celebrating in the same way: legendary Roberto Rojas questioned the move and spoke more about marketing than football. The debate has already begun.
