Rubiel Mosquera needs no introduction in the world of bodybuilding. They call him Neckzilla because of a neck that measures nearly 50 centimeters, and at 30 years old he was already rubbing shoulders with the best on the planet in the Men’s Open category of the IFBB Pro League.
At the end of 2025, he underwent surgery for an umbilical hernia. Three months without training were enough for him to lose muscle mass, and that is when he made the decision that shook the fitness world: cancel his entire 2026 season and give up fighting for a spot at Mr. Olympia.
Today he weighs 143 kilos in the off-season and is working alongside his coach Francisco Espín on a complete physical rebuild. The goal is not to rush, but to come back stronger: his return to competition is not planned until 2027 🔥
