Nine tattoos covered her arms, and no one in Congress knew.

Nancy Mace kept them covered under long sleeves for years while serving her term as a representative from South Carolina. Earlier this year, she said she got them in quick succession during a difficult personal period, as a way to “reclaim” her body and identity after that moment.

Now that she has left Congress after losing the Republican primary for governor in 2026, and with her new YouTube show, Get Maced, just launched, Mace appeared in public without sleeves. It was the first time in months that she had openly shown what she had kept hidden for so long under the political spotlight.
