Aran Murphy is 19 years old and has a face that needs no introduction anymore. 👀
At the premiere of ‘Youth,’ HBO Max’s new series, presenter Jodie McCallum asked him some routine questions. Nobody expected the clip to go viral for another reason: the same light eyes, the same smile, the same way of looking at the camera as his father, Cillian Murphy. One user summed it up better than anyone: “copied and pasted”.
But Aran, son of the Oscar winner for ‘Oppenheimer’ and artist Yvonne McGuinness, did not step onto that red carpet solely because of genetic inheritance. In ‘Youth,’ he plays the adult son of Sharon Horgan’s character, who has already praised him publicly for how natural his performance is.
He also appears in the series ‘War’ alongside Dominic West, and is confirmed for ‘Klara and the Sun,’ alongside Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.
He inherited the face. The career, it seems, he is building on his own.
