Indi is 28 years old. Heraldo, 37. And from the first month they were dating, they already knew something that took many by surprise: they did not want children.
They met in Australia, with her working as his improvised translator using Google Translate while he learned English away from the military. They got married in August 2022, and two weeks later came the usual questions: when are the children coming? The answer came in June 2023, when Heraldo underwent a vasectomy with his wife’s full support.
Today they live what they call the DINK lifestyle: double income, no kids. They get up early, go to the gym, walk their dogs, travel whenever they want, and take naps on weekends without asking anyone’s permission. Indi sums it up like this: she would rather regret not having children than regret having had them.
